McDonalds Teaching Strategies Blog 1 Task 2
Reading through the McDonald Teaching Strategies Book 5 Strategies that I will implement during my placement are
- Build on the Students Strengths
- Teach and help the students develop their self management skills
- Use Terms such as Thank You and I appreciate the way you
- Smile and Acknowledge students
- Organising and structuring instruction that facilitates deep learning in an environment that is clearly focused on learning and important to students.
EDN 4100 McDonald Teaching Strategies Task 2 Blog 2 Reflection of Strategies
As the placement went on the use of praise and using terms such as thank you and I appreciate the way was really successful because it helped to promote positive behaviour within the classroom environment.
it was a challenge in the two weeks to be able to build on the learning strengths of the students but I feel going into the FPE I will be able to make more use of this and be able to create dynamic and innovative lessons for the students in relation to their strengths.
in the two weeks I didn't really get an opportunity to be able to help the students work on their self management skills but i feel that it is an important part of being able to create a positive classroom dynamic. in the FPE I will endeavour to put this teaching strategy into practice.
some of the instructions given to students were a bit unclear at times so the students were a little confused in aspects of my teaching but the organisation of resources to be used in the lessons helped engage the students in the learning process and were useful in providing the students With Hands on learning experiences.
The Fourth strategy smile and acknowledge students was successful as I did this every morning when I let them into the classroom I would say good morning how are you to all the students as they entered the classroom. This strategy was very successful on the placement and will endeavour to continue to use this strategy going into the FPE
